For one month, I worked in my dining room and kitchen with sensors, microphones, and a multiple-channel sound setup. Using this system, I was able to process and amplify sound in real-time (coming from the floor, under cabinets, from appliances, tables, and walls) I spent a great deal of time in this space, experiencing the rhythms and patterns of my everyday life amplified and altered according to my movements and behavior. Sounds would disappear and reappear, and the layering of sound was infinitely variable. As part of the project, I hosted a ‘listening party’, a dinner party where guests were invited to experience this setup.
